Planning to make your home look better with a new basement? Maybe install new flooring? Or perhaps rework your bathroom?
You need a renovation company you can depend on. At KC Renovations, we know all the ins-and-outs of the construction process and can help you right from the designing stage. Even though not all projects follow the same construction process, the basic steps are similar.
Planning
At first, you need to plan right – keeping in mind your finances. Our construction team consisting of experienced engineers and architects. We set an estimated cost after going through the different structural designs and the materials needed.
Permits and Insurance
Before the commencement of the work, you need to have the necessary permits. Failing to do so will result in fines, delaying a project, or even worse demolition of the building.
Preparation
This is the first step for every building construction. At this stage, excavation takes place for different purposes, including power, water, and sanitation lines. The site also undergoes leveling and filing for the preparation of further construction.
Construction of Foundation
Looking to build a new home? The type of foundation depends on a variety of factors like the soil type and the water level of the area. In some cases, soil testing also takes place for a better understanding of the area. It also depends on the building type. For example, a shallow foundation is for low-rise building and pile foundation for a high-rise building. The construction of the foundation starts by excavating the soil. Then reinforcement works take place depending on the design of the foundation. The superior engineer then checks it.
Building a framed structure
After the foundation is complete, building basic items takes place to provide a shape to the building. Construction of Masonry walls, exterior doors, and windows start in this stage. Other necessary works include roof construction, air-conditioning, and ventilation installation based on the building plan, finishing the walls, and the floor works. In short, most of the works are complete at this stage.
Making a punch list
The next step is to create a punch list by thoroughly checking all the work done. The construction works which were not done correctly or had low-quality all end up in this list. The contractor usually has to complete the list and then later correct them. It takes place after the completion of the project.
Warranty period
The contractor hands over the project along with a warranty to the owner after fixing everything. It mentions a warranty period, and the rising of any defects during this period get solved by the contractor. And the manufacturers and the suppliers provide a warranty for the materials and appliances.
