Standard extended session rate and rate payments for district-sponsored summer academic programs should be included in early retirement. The Auburn School Committee recognizes the Auburn Education Association as the exclusive representative of the group of members for the purposes of collective bargaining. Members who are RIF`d are considered for re-employment during the school year in which they are dismissed, plus the following school year, and they are counted in the reverse order of dismissal to fill vacancies when such positions are created. Examples: A member has fifteen (15) years of experience in Auburn. The member is now on BA Step 7 for the 2014-2015 school year. He/she has taken fifteen (15) other professional study credits. During the 2015-2016 school year, the teacher is placed at ba level +15 level 8. (Such a move assumes that the central office has been given the necessary form to change lane on or before the due date.) The classification in the wage regulations shall be in accordance with the requirements of the level of vocational training defined in this Agreement. It is only for the purposes of the initial placement that the number of eligible years of service is determined by the Superintendent. If a member changes either the level of vocational training or their years of experience, the adjustments will take effect in September of the next school year.
The Committee and the Association agree that the responsibility of members to their students and their profession generally involves the performance of tasks and time beyond the normal working day, but that members are entitled to regular schedules and schedules on which they can rely in the normal course and which are respected fairly and equitably throughout the school system. In all cases, the responsibility for the meeting to discuss an unexpected observation is shared by the evaluator/coach and the teacher. Whenever possible, these meetings should take place within three (3) school days of observation, in order to maximize impact by avoiding a potentially long time. (Such a move assumes that the central office has been given the necessary form to change lane on or before the due date.) As part of the formal assessment process, there are forms and timelines to follow, as described below. However, what is mentioned below is exclusive for regular walking exercises performed by building administrators. These do not require filling out forms, but will be part of the important ongoing work that takes place in schools when educators collaborate in the best interests of students.
